The University of Bedfordshire (UB) is a large university with five campuses in total, but with two main campuses based in Luton and Bedford in the South of the UK. It also has a health teaching facility in Aylesbury which was opened in partnership with Buckingham Healthcare NHS trust at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, it is also home to the world renowned National Spinal Injuries Centre. UB founded its roots in 1882, it gained university status in 1993 as the University of Luton and later changed its name to its current title in 2006.
The university holds the silver award within the Teaching Excellence Framework and also holds rank in the top 300 worldwide universities under 50 years old in the Young Universities rankings. Working towards their Target Zero Campaign, which launched in 2020, to become carbon neutral by 2050, they have won a number of awards relating to this including an EcoCampus Platinum award in 2021.
UB has around 20,000 students across its five campuses, with around 37% of this number being international students from over 100 countries.
