The University of Buckingham is the oldest private and independent university in the UK and the only independent university in the UK with a Royal Charter. Based in North Buckinghamshire, the university has nine schools over three campuses, two based in the town of Buckingham and one campus based in Crewe, in the North West of England. It is the home of the two-year undergraduate degree, making a faster and cheaper route to study an undergraduate qualification.

The university is a prestigious UK university opened in 1976 with just 65 students enrolled, and is still an intimate university today, with small academic teaching groups. The small academic teaching groups goes along with the highest rating, Gold, within the Teaching Excellence Framework that the university holds. In 2023, the university was placed 2nd in The Complete University Guide for Graduate Prospects, and is also QQA Quality Assured for meeting or exceeding UK expectations for quality and standards.

With an overall student population of 3,300 students, the university has international students from 70 different countries. The University of Buckingham holds two intakes a year, both very similar in size, meaning they have the full range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses available in January and September.
