Swansea University was founded in 1920 and has been at the cutting edge of research and innovation since, with a long history of working with industry and business, and today are part of a wider impact across four main subjects in society; health, wealth, culture and well-being.
The university prides itself on their achieved level of success and their research activity of a larger scale university, but still hold its friendly and relaxed atmosphere, characterised as the “Swansea experience”.
Swansea is ranked 24th in the UK in the Guardian’s rankings and holds a gold TEF rating within the Teaching Excellence Framework, this is the highest award for teaching at higher education level. In the Welsh edition of the Guardians university rankings, it holds the number 1 top spot and is also in the top 10 for student satisfaction.
The University has two intakes in the academic year, with the main intake being in September, but they also have a smaller postgraduate only intake in January. Swansea university has more than 4000 international students studying with them from over 130 countries, they have an international student support team on hand called International@CampusLife to help pre-arrival and once you are on campus.
