Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is the 30th largest university in the UK with a student population of just over 25,000 students. With history dating back to 1823, it started out as the Liverpool Mechanics School of Arts, later merging and becoming Liverpool Polytechnic, then in 1992 gained its name it is today. With two main campuses, City Campus and Mount Pleasant Campus, LJMU has world class student facilities in the heart of Liverpool known for its music history, its 2008 city of culture status, manufacturing and its place in history.
LJMU has been awarded the Silver award within the Teaching Excellence framework, along with this it holds a student satisfaction rating of 76% amongst their current student population. The university is in the top 500 of the Best Global Universities, which makes it a great choice for international students.
Liverpool John Moores University has an extremely large list of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses available for international students, they provide just over 200 undergraduate courses. They have two intakes over the academic year, September being the main intake, they have international students from 100 countries, showing how multicultural Liverpool is as a city in the north of England.
